Crazy Drums
Please have a look at the pictures of our last trip here Pictures Gallery.
Description:
Have you ever been in the middle of 20.000 drummers all playing at the same time?
The Tamborada de Hellín is something else. For centuries the villages of the region “Campos de Helín” have been celebrating this big festival that shows the passion its people have about drums.
We will travel to the village of Agramón, a place where time seems to stand still. Here we will make our first stop to admire an old and extinguished volcano and the beauty of the area.
Our local guides will receive us to offer us a bite to eat and a drink and afterwards we will continue the visit going to the rock paintings of Minateda, a World Heritage Site declared by UNESCO. With hundreds of paintings in one coat, it is one of the best preserved pieces or rock art we have in Castilla la Mancha and a very special place completely off the beaten track.
We will have our lunch in a local and very traditional restaurant and try the local specialities. We need some energy to visit our next destination: Hellín and its crazy drums.
Arriving at Hellín early in the afternoon, we will melt with the local people enjoying the sound of thousands of drums playing laudly to the world, we will visit the local market and the beautiful old town of Hellín.
Tired but happy, we will return to Alicante around 7pm (travelling time is about 2h).
